What auto repair service do you need? Oil ChangeBrakesAlignmentTiresI have no idea, we’ve got you covered.
Our Auto Repair Services Include
Oil Change
To keep running smoothly, your car needs oil and oil filters. Oil helps in lubricating, cooling, and cleaning the internal engine components. Over time, oil becomes contaminated and breaks down. Your car needs an oil, and filter change at regular intervals (check your car’s manual). When it is time for a lube, bring your car into Peak Auto.
Tire Change
Driving on tires that are too old, improperly inflated, out of balance, or not suited to weather conditions can be dangerous and can jeopardize your safety. Tires are designed with very specific specifications in mind. Using them improperly can have sudden and catastrophic consequences.
Flat Repair
Tires are expensive and we take any opportunity we can to repair them safely, this not only saves you money but keeps you safe on the road as well.
Small punctures can often be plugged and patched (it should always be both!) but sometimes there is just nothing we (or anyone) can do to save the tire.
If the hole is on the edge of the tire (outside the tread) it’s probably unsafe to repair. The same goes for a tire that’s been driven on while flat. In this case, the sidewall has become weakened and the tire is no longer safe and is not repairable either.
Preventative Maintenance
As time goes by, various auto repairs and maintenance needs to be done. Most manufacturers recommend car maintenance in intervals of 30,000 miles. This is the 30k/60k/90k mile schedule (check your car’s manual). The experts at Peak Auto will keep you on schedule, and help you preserve the condition of the vehicle, optimize its performance, and survive our winters. In other words, we will keep your car running at its peak. The routine service usually includes the following:
- Fluid replacements
- Oil and Filter changes
- Tire rotation, spin balance, and pressure adjustments
- Inspection of parts and systems – gears, tires, brake pads, belts, hoses, etc.
- With higher mileage: spark plugs, belts, and timing belts may become necessary to change
Brakes
Anti-Lock Brake System Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS) ensure that the wheels don’t stop spinning while braking, preventing the car from skidding and offering better control.
Brake Fluid Flushes Brake fluid will absorb water from the air over time, causing the brake system to become corrosive, and possibly damaging the system. It is important to perform a brake fluid flush regularly to ensure that your vehicle is using fresh fluid.
Brake Hoses A brake hose is a tube carrying pressurized brake fluid from the master cylinder to the brakes. A damaged hose can cause a lagged or slow brake. A leak in the hose can cause the brake, or the entire brake system, to fail. These don’t need to be replaced very often but should be replaced at the first sign of cracking, damage, or wear.
Brake Pad & Shoe Replacement Brake pad problems can usually be identified by terrible squealing brakes. It will give you a headache.
Caliper Replacement The brake caliper presses the pads against the rotor when you brake. A brake caliper problem could cause uneven braking.
Steering and Suspension
Wheel alignment is standard car maintenance that involves adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are set to the manufacturer’s specifications.
The main purpose is to let the suspension and the steering systems operate at their desired angles – this reduces tire wear and driving straight down the road. Alignment is a complicated process and not all mechanics get it right. Here and Peak Auto we can handle all of your steering needs.
Check Engine Lights
We use high-tech diagnostic equipment to scan your car’s digital log. This lets us pinpoint any problems the car may be warning you about. This helps us inform you what the problem is so you can make a better educated decision bout the repair.
Electrical Diagnoses
Dead Batteries can be a sign there are other electrical issues with your car. Faulty alternators and much more can cause all kinds of issues in today’s modern cars. Our expertise with electrical systems will ensure we find the problem and fix it right, so you are not left stranded in the woods.
Tune-Ups
Tune-ups are ensuring your car is operating at a level it should be. Parts wear over time and need to be replaced. Often times changing spark plugs, and air filters and using the correct tire pressure can make a world of difference in your car and its fuel efficiency.
Timing Belts/Chains
A timing belt is a part of your car’s engine. The belt synchronizes the camshaft and the crankshaft so that the engine valves open and close at the correct timing.
A timing Belt is a rubber belt that usually features teeth on the inside surface, while a timing chain is a metal roller chain. Most cars we drive now have timing belts instead of timing chains and gears. Although different manufacturers have their recommended mileage, you need to have your car’s timing belt checked regularly.
A belt/chain failure can lead to very expensive repairs, oftentimes completely destroying the engine.
Full-Service Auto Repair
No matter how carefully you drive, your car will occasionally need repair. These repairs may include engine diagnostics, repairs, alignments, brakes, front-end, and rear-end diagnostic services, and electronics service and repair.
